The Holy Spirit We Never Knew
Spend two soul-tending days with Dr. Jack Levison and Rev. Dr. Priscilla Pope-Levison, professors at SMU Perkins School of Theology, authors, and sought after speakers. The event will be filled with energy, thoughtful reflection, worship, and spiritual renewal. (1 CEU Credit available.)
ABOUT THE RETREAT:
Seventeen words into the Bible, the Spirit of God hovers over a murky chaos. One hundred thirteen words from the end of the Bible, the Spirit invites everyone who is thirsty to drink for free. At the start and finish of the Bible—Genesis 1:2 and Revelation 22:17—the Spirit is there, bringing order to chaos and satisfaction to people with parched throats.
From beginning to end, the Spirit is active, yet we know so little about the Spirit of God. Not any more! Spend 2 days in the presence of the Spirit—studying, questioning, wondering, learning. With our Bibles at hand, we will explore the unknown but not unknowable world of the Spirit.
Come Holy Spirit gives you the opportunity to search the world of the Spirit in the Old and New Testaments, where the Spirit hovers, fills, rushes, clothes, rests, and is poured out upon people. By studying the Old and New Testaments in this retreat, you will learn to expect the unexpected of the Spirit, to prepare for the unprecedented, and, just as important, to discover the unlikely presence of the Spirit where you may least expect it—in the grit and grime of everyday life.
