Tired of all the anxiety and fear surrounding us? It seems whichever way we turn, whether toward church or toward our political life, there is conflict, anger, and division. In her latest book, Diana Butler Bass explores how gratitude can heal our hearts and mend our divisions, offering a new vision of grace and justice that can change the world. Come and be refreshed personally, gain new biblical insights, and explore how we might find our way back toward each other with hope, joy, and love.
Schedule: (All sessions at Lambuth Inn.) Opening Session-7:00-9:00pm; Morning Session- 9:00-Noon; Evening Session-7:00-9:00pm; Closing Session-9:00-11:00am. Session themes will include: Gratitude as a personal practice, gratitude as a communal practice, and re-reading the New Testament through the lens of gratitude. (Optional afternoon opportunities available.)
Afternoon Workshop: SoulCollage/ Prayer Cards (Limited space available. Included in the workshop price.)
The group will be led through ancient Christian practices of centering prayer to quiet our hearts and minds. The Holy Spirit is invited into prayer, reflection, and an art response. Visual prayers are created through a process called SoulCollage®. This is a process of making collage cards through an intuitive selection of images from magazines and photos. Participants will become present to their unique and many-faceted Soul in a new way. This illumination often deepens and nourishes our relationship with God. This is a simple & creative process that holds deep meaning for many and does not require any artistic ability-just the ability to cut and paste! ( Facilitated by Arika Morrison, M.S., LPCS; Friday afternoon from 2-4pm.)
